Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Institute of Global Finance (UNSW) International Conference

on Financial Services and Technology: Financial Inclusion and Stability, Monday 5 February 9am-4.30pm

The conference intends to explore the issues related to innovation, deregulation, regulation and compliance. The ADB will launch its Economic Integration Report for 2018 during this conference. The Asian Development Bank’s Vice President and the Director, NSW Office,  Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ms Rhonda Piggott, will address the conference.

The Global Co-leader of KPMG Financial Technology- Fintec- practice, Mr Ian Pollari gives a keynote at this conference. Mr Anatoly Kirievsky, the Head of Compliance at Optiver Asia Pacific, will give an address on the issues related to regulatory compliance at this conference.

Mr Nathan Lynch, Regional Head of Financial Crime and Risk at Thomson Reuters, will speak on technology, disruption and the limits to national regulatory oversight. The ANZ Chief Economist, Mr Richard Yetsenga will address the conference on issues related to the Asian Financial and Economic Markets.  Ms Sarah Hickey, Partner at PwC will address the conference on issues related to tax associated with the developments of  financial technology and innovation. Mr Tim Harcourt will address the conference on Asian economic issues. Ms Laura Newton from AUSTRAC will address the conference on issues associated with de-risking of remittance business and risk assessment on remittance flows.  

Professor Ross Buckley from the UNSW (on Fintec) and Professor Douglas Arner (on Financial Regulation) from the University of Hong Kong will also be part of the conference program and address it with their insights and experiences.
