International Business Forum on Global Financial Issues & Launch of the World Bank Report

A major International Business Forum will be held as part of the 29th Australasian Finance and Banking Conference on December 14, 2016. The Forum will include the launch of the World Bank report Doing Business 2017: Equal Opportunity For All.

Doing Business project is a tool that decision-makers can use to reduce regulation, enhance competitiveness and increase global interdependence. It provides context for analysing the current global financial and economic issues facing nations.

Doing Business delivers quantified, comparable measures of business opportunities, forces of interdependence, and social, financial and economic factors that influence business internationally. Published annually since 2002, it measures the efficiency and strength of laws, business opportunities, regulations and institutions relevant to companies throughout their life cycles.

Dr. Augusto López-Claros, Director of the World Bank Global Indicators Group, will launch the report. He will discuss the report’s findings, which span 190 economies and selected cities at the subnational and regional level. He will also discuss global interdependent forces that are influencing the direction of the international economy in the post global financial crisis era.
