The Asian Development Bank Conference:

The First International Public AMC Forum (IPAF)

Professor Fariborz Moshirian, the Director of the IGF, was invited as a keynote speaker to the First IPAF Summit Meeting and Conference on Reinforcing the Safety Net of the Asian Economy. The conference held on May 27-28, 2013 in Seoul, Korea. The conference was jointly organised by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMC). The objective of this meeting was to address cooperative business strategies and policy implications of the safety net to transform Asia’s financial landscape. The other speakers included the former Chancellor of Germany, Gerhard Schröder.

Professor Fariborz Moshirian was also a Moderator, facilitating the discussion about the outlook and challenges facing the global economy and Asian economies for the next 5 years.

The International Public AMC Forum (IPAF) was jointly founded in 2012 by seven public Asset Management Companies (AMCs), including the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, Mongolia, Thailand and Vietnam. Its objective is to provide a common platform for public AMCs to share knowledge and experience and promote common interests among policymakers, economists, public AMCs and the private sector across the region.
