The Institute of Global Finance organised a major business forum on the Global Systemic Risk, Liquidity and Global Financial Stability in Sydney with the participation of the Nobel Laureate Professor Robert Engle from NYU, Professor Deborah Lucas from MIT, Assistant Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia, Dr Guy Debelle and the Treasurer of Westpac Mr Curt Zuber.
In his speech, Dr. Guy Debelle stated his opinion regarding the liquidity regulation in the banking system and superannuation (pension) system.
He has made some remarks on liquidity regulation in the banking sector in Australia and pointed out the potential challenge banks may encounter during the implementation process of Basel III. He ended his speech with a few remarks on liquidity management for the superannuation (pension) sector.
